The ID requirements for Western Union have been updated. The Acceptable forms of ID are as follows:
Primary forms of identification verifying full name
- Current EU Driving Licence
- Current Passport – Any Country
- Current Irish Driving Licence – Please note that all Driving Licences renewed after the 19th of January 2013 will be in the credit card-sized plastic format.
- EU National Identity Card – Please note that certain EU Countries do not have ID cards. The ones that issue identity cards in January 2013 are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia ,Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia ,Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
- EU Residency Cards – (excluding Ireland Garda National Immigration Card) Residence permit with photo
- Emergency Passport – All Countries
- Ships Passport
Non-photographic ID to verify current/permanent residential address
- Current utility bill – Original or Internet printed phone, gas, electricity, etc. bill addressed to the individual at their home address and dated within the last three months.
- Financial institution letter – Original or Internet printed bank statement, credit card statement, loan account statement, arrears letter, etc. addressed to the individual at their home address and dated within the last three months.
- Local authority letter – Original or Internet printed refuse collection bill, water bill, etc. addressed to the individual at their home address and dated within the last three months.
- Insurance document – Motor vehicle or household insurance document addressed to the individual at their home address and dated within the last three months.
- Tax or government document – Original tax certificate, tax clearance certificate, income tax documents, or property tax document addressed to the individual at their home address and dated within the last three months.
- Passport or National ID Card
- Voter registration document
- Educational Institution Letter
- Letter from hotel or hostel
